Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog! My name is Karen List and this is my first semester at Columbus State. I am a certified teacher and licensed to teach in the following areas: Kindergarten-Elementary (K-8), Pre-Kindergarten and Reading K-12. Currently, I am homeschooling our two children. While this is our sixth year of homeschooling, I have kept my license up-to-date so that I have the option to return to a school system, should I decide to. This class will not only help me to maintain my license, but give me the opportunity to brush up on my technology skills.
My hobbies include traveling with my family and spending lazy summer days on the shores of Lake Michigan. I love to spend time outdoors and in my flower beds. Don't be surprised if you find me frequenting area farmer's markets and visiting Columbus' beautiful Metro Parks. I enjoy listening to music and being involved in my church.
My goal as an educator is to make learning fun and meaningful. I enjoy incorporating student interests into our classroom curriculum and differentiating my instruction to meet student learning styles. As a teacher, I desire to fill the hearts of my students with a love for learning, a desire to accomplish the impossible and a hunger to change history through their unique gifts.
